Game Console Repair

GumTek repairs games consoles at our workshop in Holloway, North London. We fix PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles, as well as handhelds, for customers in Holloway and nearby Finsbury Park, Highbury, Islington and Archway.

No picture on your TV?

A damaged HDMI port is one of the most common console faults. It often happens when the console is moved or the cable is pulled while still plugged in. If you've tried another cable and another TV input and still get no picture, the port may need replacing.

Overheating and cleaning

Dust builds up inside consoles over time, making them run hot, sound loud and sometimes switch off mid-game. We clean the inside of the console and replace the thermal paste to bring temperatures back down.

Storage replacement and your games

If we replace the internal hard drive or SSD, anything saved on the old drive may be lost. Turn on cloud saves or back up your game data first if the console still works.

Game controllers

We don't repair game controllers, but we sell new and used PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo controllers in our shop.

Parts we use

We use genuine parts where they are available. If a genuine part is not available, we use a compatible part. We always tell you before work starts which type of part we will use, and the price will depend on the part used.

No fix, no fee

There is no charge for diagnosis. We find the fault and give you a price before any work starts, and you only pay if we fix your console.

How to get your console repaired

  1. Bring your console to our shop with its power cable or charger.
  2. We diagnose the fault free of charge and tell you the price.
  3. Once you agree, we repair it and let you know when it's ready to collect.

We also repair laptops, desktop PCs and Macs.
