GumTek is an independent Mac repair workshop in Holloway, North London. We repair MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro, including older Intel models and newer Apple Silicon models (M1 onwards). Customers come to us from across North London, including Finsbury Park, Highbury, Islington and Archway.

Spilled a drink on your MacBook?

Switch it off, unplug the charger and bring it to us as soon as you can. Don't try to charge it or turn it back on to check whether it still works, because that can cause more damage.

SSD and RAM upgrades

Upgrade options depend on the exact Mac model. On older Macs where the storage or memory can be replaced, we can fit a larger or faster SSD and extra RAM. Many newer Macs, particularly Apple Silicon models, have memory or storage that cannot be upgraded in the usual way, so we check the exact model before recommending an upgrade.

Data recovery

If your Mac won't start, we can try to recover your files, photos and documents. We can also move your data from an old Mac to a new one.

Parts and independent repair

We use genuine Apple parts where they are available. If a genuine part is not available, we use a compatible part. We always tell you before work starts whether we will use a genuine Apple part or a compatible part, and the price will depend on the part used. GumTek is an independent repair workshop and is not an Apple Authorised Service Provider.

No fix, no fee

There is no charge for diagnosis. We find the fault and give you a price before any work starts, and you only pay if we fix your Mac.

How to get your Mac repaired

  1. Bring your Mac to our shop. If the problem is with charging, bring your charger and cable too.
  2. We diagnose the fault free of charge and tell you the price.
  3. Once you agree, we repair it and let you know when it's ready to collect.
